3 Years Old

3 year old
Your child is growing and learning to express herself as he plays. You'll notice a wild imagination that shows itself in the creative games he makes up. Help your child explore the world around him by engaging him in daily chores, garden work, painting, dress-up, reading and fun at the playground.

Some basic milestones for age three include following directions with a few steps and starting to dress himself. They are also interested in potty training, singing songs and doing things themselves. This independent streak likely even shows as some self-centeredness. This is normal at this stage and will require you setting expectations and be consistent in your responses including simply saying "no."
